To begin with I was sceptical about how helpful I would find this course, however after the first week I began to notice subtle changes in my 'frame of mind' and felt myself seeking opportunities to practice the techniques that had been taught during times of the day when I felt under pressure. I'm a student who was struggling with a panic disorder and chronic anxiety. Beginning a new Pharmacy program in a few months, I felt I had to bring some balance and lightness to my life. I took the first steps with my therapist, and she taught me about mindfulness. Searching on the Internet about the practice, I found out about Be Mindful. Having a strong scientific mind, I read psychology reviews about the benefits of mindfulness, and decided to give the course a try. Turns out, it was a great decision. Surprisingly, I found it very difficult at the beginning. The Body Scan really changed my life, because it made me face the body sensations that I feared so much during a panic attack. I learned to accept sensations such as dizziness, pain, nausea, tingling, and so on, As week 1 came to an end, I felt that I was doing the body scan with much more serenity and control. In the end, the course really helped me enjoy the simple things in my life.
