Testimonials

Janine writes…

Before taking the course, I read the testimonials. They were extremely positive and removed any doubt I had about spending time and money this way. This was the right thing to do! So I'm taking the time to add my own testimonial: if you're considering it, my advice is to do it. I'm not a changed person, but I am one with a few more resources to draw on and play with, and with more pervasive and gentler curiosity. There is a strong emphasis on stress here but you don't need to be stressed right now, or even expect to suffer from stress at other times to benefit: it'll also help you make more of even the best of times!

Karen Bulsara writes…

Clearly presented, practical help in becoming aware and mindful. I was able to utilise skills immediately in stressful situations. Really enjoyed the course and have already recommended it to 2 more friends.

Alexandra Davey writes…

I was skeptical but I found that fitting mindfulness into my day made me more, not less, productive, as well as relaxed.

Eve Timney writes…

The course has really made a difference. I feel so much better. It's hugely comforting to know I have something really effective up my sleeve when things get tough. I enjoyed spending some special time looking after myself - it felt like a treat. My backache has eased considerably too - thanks to mindful yoga. I intend to do a lot more. Thank you - a really wonderful resource, well presented and very reasonably priced.

Claire Feeley writes…

This is a fantastic course. Incredibly well thought out, easy to navigate and use. Offers a range of different methods of mindfulness, so if you don't get on with one way, there is another that may be more your style. I have loved it. Thank you!

Eve Collyer Merritt writes…

Mindfulness has helped me cope with a long term illness. Before I started mindfulness, severe symptoms would make me upset and panicky, but I've learnt to cope with even the worst pain calmly. I feel much less anxious and far more able to cope.

Bridget Nash writes…

I didn’t feel particularly stressed at the beginning of the course however my score lowered at the end showing the benefits of mindfulness. I feel a lot calmer and very much in the here and now rather than worrying about the future.

Mark Bonney writes…

Before starting I was "well stressing" score of 25, after with a score of 9!  I find it really helpful to take a break from work and do my breathing, after returning from work following 9 months off with depression, my employers are now more mindful of my condition and the need to take a break, breathe things out. As a recovering / recovered alcoholic I find the new exercises helpful to keep my mind off my cravings.

Sarah Thorpe writes…

I would recommend this 4 week online course very strongly not just to those suffering from stress, anxiety or depression but to anyone who lives in the modern world, trying to do and be their best, juggling all the demands of family and work. When I started the course I was in the middle of a relapse so perhaps I shouldn't have continued. However I found it helped me to reverse the progress and I am now definitely on the upward rather than the downward slope. It is the first therapy I have experienced which is based on love and compassion and therefore extraordinary in its effects. By learning to treat ourselves with love and compassion we can offer love and compassion to others and feel a real connection. That connection generates more love and compassion and so the cycle grows.

Brian Duggan writes…

This course has helped me enormously through a very trying time. I feel much better in myself and about myself, and I am sure that the sub-concious order --Breathe!!!-- is a great instant help when I do feel myself getting stressed. My wife has remarked on a distinct difference in me, which makes the course even more worthwhile.

ES, Edinburgh writes…

I would highly recommend this course to anyone suffering from anxiety and depression. The practices that I have learned over the last four weeks have enabled me to take a step back from what was an almost constant buzz of negative and unhelpful thoughts, and I am far more resilient, happier and more optimistic about the future as a result. Learning mindfulness has also given me the tools and insight I so desperately needed to develop some much needed acceptance and self-compassion. I have noticed a real change in myself and friends and family have commented on how much happier and healthier I seem. The course is also very user-friendly and accessible, without being patronizing. In short, it's the best £40 I've spent in a very long time!

Matthew Greenfield writes…

Simple, straight-forward advice in a well structured and very user-friendly format. Good value too.

Anne O Brien writes…

I've bought many books about mindfulness and started many practices which I later abandoned. The difference with this is that it IS a course and therefore keeps you on track (using daily activities, reminders etc) until such time as you have developed mindful habits. This was really great.

Geoffrey writes…

A brilliant course that has made me more aware of myself and my impact on others.
It has enabled me to reduce my own stress but I think more importantly the stress I cause to others.

Anne writes…

This course has been a good, cost-effective start to mindfulness practice. 'Face-to-face' courses tend to be quite expensive and doing this course has helped me make the decision as to whether more training will be a viable investment, rather than committing to a lot of expense and hoping for the best. It has also been very beneficial. I didn't feel I was stressed when I started, but my stress score still went down considerably. I find the practice great for allowing a sense of perspective. Highly recommended.

Lorraine O'Neil writes…

This course helped me to gain a sense of control and perspective over how I was feeling, practicing the exercises helped me sleep much better at night. I was able to accept my reactions to situations with a greater sense of calm.

Helen Percival writes…

This was an excellent and well-planned course. I found it very helpful in re-establishing a mindfulness practice; the level of support was right for me, and having a variety of different practices and other input was very useful. It has helped me to slow down and, surprisingly, to say no to things that are really too much. Thank you.

Iona writes…

Thank you so much for the Mindfulness course. Everything about it was clear, straight forward and I liked that it wasn’t pressure based, but rather learning to be kinder to oneself. I will recommend this course to others in the humanitarian field, as it adds to a helpful tool kit. Many thanks!

Martine Monceau writes…

I have found this course extremely useful. Physically, I have become much more relaxed; my posture awareness has increased (the use of the word "dignified" during the sitting meditation, in tandem with the emphasis on breathing awareness, has acted as a strong trigger for me to automatically correct my posture). I now feel that I have become much more conscious of the fact that I am taking charge of my well-being, while doing so in a kind and gentle way. I found the course to be very comprehensive in its range of activities - including the reviews and questionnaire for self-assessment - and its immediate and direct application to everyday life. In order to reinforce, and maintain the good habits that I have learned from your course, I have enrolled myself on a eight-week course starting mid-September. Your course has motivated me to take this action.
I would also agree that working with someone else, or joining a group, is a great help. My daughter and I took your course together and were able to share our experiences throughout the four weeks, which will also encourage us to further discuss our progress with our personal commitment to mindful living.  Thank you for your excellent presentation of Mindfulness Practice and your guidance throughout each exercise.

Tim Buescher writes…

This course has provided me with the opportunity to experience practicing mindfulness meditation without the high cost of one of the one-to-one or distance learning courses and in a format which has been easy to fit into my daily life. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking to continue and develop my practice through a more in-depth course as soon as I can. The benefits to my daily life from working through this course have been that I am more aware of my reactions to stress and more able to deal with these as they arise and not get caught up in thoughts. Also, I am more able to experience each moment as it arises and not become anxious about what is going to happen or not happen next. Thank you.

Paul and Sam write…

I worked through the course with my partner and we have both agreed that Mindfulness is a really valuable way of looking at our lives differently and working towards a calmer, more reflective way of living. We also think the design and delivery methods of this on line course are really good - allowing us to work at our own pace but not ignoring us when we stayed away too long!  We know we are only just setting out on this 'journey' but we are convinced it will make a large, lasting and positive difference to the way we experience our lives. Thank you

Heather writes…

I thought at first this course was nothing new, and perhaps of little substance, but decided to put negativity to one side and go with it. Whilst it is what you say an introductory course, I then found some really useful insights into managing stress and low mood which I think I will be able to use myself and also recommend to my patients. Being an 'Awareness' rather than a 'Relaxation' approach is a real breakthrough. Well worth it!

Linda Brooks writes…

I signed up for the Be Mindful course because I suffer from chronic pain. At the time, I was also going through a very stressful experience. The mindful practice gave me a valuable 'space' in each day to gather myself together. I found it a very valuable tool for helping me to get through some very tough times. The course has shown me that with more practice, it will help me at all times in the future come what may. Thank you for putting together such a well thought out course that can help so many people.

Bernadette writes…

Thank you for this course.
I have found the theoretical and practical aspects of the course most useful in all aspects.
The pace of the course and the way in which it is structured is very good and easy to follow.

Carol F. writes…

Thank you so much for helping me to realize how much stress is impacting on me physically, mentally and emotionally. Having just finished the course I know I have accomplished something that enables me to nurture/be kind to myself, by learning to put some boundaries in place. The course has helped me to be more reflective and less reactive. I know it is early days but I feel confident that I have started something that can really help make my life better in the future if I can just keep practicing even a small amount as often as I can.

Debbie writes…

I just feel so much better thinking like the tortoise and not the hare - still getting there in the end but actually having a bit more time to enjoy the journey!  Thank you for giving me the map!

John H. writes…

I would recommend this course to anyone suffering from anxiety or depression, even if they have already read or listened to the works of Jon Kabat-Zinn and his fellow authors. The fact of being "accompanied" by Ed and Tessa is very valuable.

Clare Maria Campbell writes…

I have found this course a truly life-changing experience. As a born worrier, who has been through some particularly distressing and tragic experiences, I felt as if I had tried everything to change my habitual responses to life without success. Now at last I've found, not only something that really works, but a skill that will get even better with practice The mindfulness course improved my sleep, my self-confidence, my concentration and even my relationships

Andrew Baker writes…

The course content was excellent and the video/audio clips were extremely useful. The regular emails served to keep me on track and added a personal touch. The whole four week program was very well thought out and the positive effects are already apparent.

Margaret Jacobsen writes…

What a wonderful course, calm and designed for people like me - ordinary - I felt confident that I could do it and enjoyed the experience. Thank you very much.

JW, Bedfordshire writes…

Down to earth advice and techniques that are helpful and workable. I found this course more useful than all the countless books and CD's I have tried in the past. Well worth £40.

Lisa Parkhouse writes…

I'm really going to miss this course! it's been an amazing journey - thank you! I didn't always know why I was practicing some things, but the advice given at the beginning of the course to 'just do it and see what happens' was the best advice. I really do get it now and am determined to keep the practices going. I had high hopes for the course and was worried that I was expecting too much of it (I struggle with anxiety and depression and had got stranded - being perpetually sad about the past and worrying about the future), but it really has helped me understand how I was living (or existing really) and has given me some really useful and useable tools for connecting more with everyday and noticing and changing old and unhelpful habits. I'm so grateful. thank you so much.

Maxine writes...

I discovered this course, a few days after taking time off work with stress. I had 4 weeks sick leave and this course helped me enormously to deal with each day;
1) by providing a focus
2) helped me clearly understand why I was stressed and
3) what I needed to do to stop it happening again.
I had to resign from that job and looking for work in the immediate aftermath was not nearly half as stressful as it would have been. I can actually enjoy each day despite the uncertainity knowing that the right job will come along and getting stressed does not help. I still have some way to go, but by practiscising every day, I will enjoy life, work and relationships so much more.

Susie Main writes…

I find that where I previously was almost suicidal regarding the prospect of a possible loss of my home, and my family of animals, now I and am not paralyzed by fear, on the basis that "what will be, will be". I could never have sat back enough to be even a little detached from my worries before doing the course.

Riikka Pustinen writes…

I took the mindfulness course as a preparation for a round the world yacht race, and I am confident that regular practice will help me to cope with stresses of this demanding environment. Sailing conditions will be difficult, and no doubt conflicts between crew will be inevitable with sleep deprivation, wetness, extreme cold and hot temperatures while sharing the tiny space with 18 others. The sailing part will be easy, while maintaining good social relations will be more difficult.  Through meditation I have gained some tools for maintaining inner peace, being aware of my thoughts and emotions. Hopefully through regular practice I will learn to recognize those things that trigger my frustration. This course was not taken only for the benefit of myself, but for our team of 18 people!  As a side effect these days I can even enjoy commute, it has proven to be a good opportunity for practice, and therefore no longer appears as a chore or battle. Wonderful course, warmly recommended for everyone.

Nicola Shaw writes…

An excellent course - to be recommended for everyone!
Allows you space and time to go through it and plenty of encouragement along the way.
Thank you for sharing your expertise.

Melissa writes…

This course has been really helpful. It must be thirty years since I first thought it would be wonderful to live in the here and now. I think maybe I'm finally starting to do so! thank you.

Harriet Hall writes…

I found the gentle pace and lack of pressure very helpful in doing this course. I never felt pushed into doing something beyond me and the information both verbal and written, was very clear. The structure was practical and could be fitted into every day life.

Carol writes…

A good course that I would recommend to everyone. It doesn't take up too much of your time but the more you practice it the more it helps. I hope this is just the beginning of something that I will incorporate into everyday life for the rest of my life.

Sandi Leach writes...

I have found this course to be immensely helpful. The course was easy to follow and a pleasure to complete. I appreciated the communication via email, it really was a gentle reminder and a motivator to keep moving forward. I actually cried when the course finished! I felt so sad that it was over. Have recommended it to several friends.

Ed Newsome writes…

I am very grateful for this course. Well presented and easy to follow. I feel like I've started to work on something that every day is helping my life more enjoyable.

Anita Berlin writes…

This web-course is very good - and very clever - the links between the website, the emails, the exercises the diary and the downloadable resources worked really well - I'd forgotten I was going away for a while and it was so nice just to pick up where I left off - no complicated hurdles to get back in. Thanks - I guess a lot of work went into making it seem so easy and simple to follow.

John H writes...

Alison Burns writes...

I work in a stressful environment, often dealing with acutely unwell mental health clients who need to be brought to hospital under section. Mindfulness has enabled me to be aware of my own stress levels and reduce them. This in turn has allowed me to be a more balanced professional, calmer, more grounded and kinder to myself. Difficult decisions still need to be made, and the client is always the centre of my focus, but afterwards when they are safe I can now bring the focus back to my body and my breathing. Mindfulness is a simple idea, not complicated, and it teaches us to not complicate things.

Mike Loftus writes…

I found the practice of mindfulness very different from what I expected. I believed that it would be more relaxation focused, but after I realized that it was more important to actually be aware of what was going on around me and get out of my thoughts, I find that I'm more relaxed anyway. I found the audio practices very easy to follow and valuable to keep doing going forward. This was a wonderful course, my favorite things were the raisin eating (very well done and really pulled me into the ideas quickly) and the breathing exercise. Wonderful, thank you!

Sue Townsin writes…

I really have enjoyed this course even if I wasn't particularly stressed to begin with. (And I'm even less stressed now!) I liked the presenters and liked their voices on the recordings. I learnt some things about myself that I hadn't been able to get at before - even though meditation isn't new to me. The variety in the different exercises was very useful and I'm optimistic that I'm going to be able to continue to practice.

Gloria Campbell writes…

When I started the course I wasn't really sure if it was for me but then when I did the stress test at the start of the course I was surprised to see that the questionnaire described exactly many of the ways I was behaving and feeling in reaction to the perceived stresses in my life. With each week as I completed the tasks I felt myself becoming calmer, happier and more in control. When I felt myself becoming anxious or stressed I had a resource I could turn to that worked quickly and effectively to bring me back to mindfulness. Many of the exercises are simple and fit in easily with everyday life -they are not a chore but instantly available and effective and I find myself using these exercises just in the course of every day life, keeping me in the moment, and able to enjoy life as I am living it at that moment, be it sitting on a bus, walking down the street, or meeting with friends. Some of the effects of being mindful were more dramatic, putting me in direct contact with emotions that were tender and compassionate and enabling me to bring these feelings into my everyday life. Most importantly the course encouraged me to be kind to myself, not to apportion blame but to be with things as they are, casting a gentle awareness over thoughts and emotions. It has been a chance to get in touch with myself at many levels. Best of all, my family and friends all share in enjoying the space mindfulness creates I have asked my closest family and friends if they have noticed any difference in me. They say I am noticeably more relaxed, easier to talk to and I seem happier. Tension and irritability has given way to thoughtfulness; a sense of panic to time to think before I act. And sometimes not to act at all but to just let things be as they are. These things have given me a great sense of lightness and freedom, a growing confidence in my own judgment and ability to act wisely and with compassion.

J Dixon writes…

This is a well structured course with surprisingly fast results. I have to admit that I haven't been able to practise as much as I'd like but have still felt great benefit.

Cathy Laver-Bradbury writes…

I enjoyed completing the course even if it took me much longer than 4 weeks. To me it was important not to pay lip service to it but to practice and try to imbed each aspect I learnt into daily living, to do this I required mind space. The last few weeks have been particularly difficult with my work and I have used the process to help me accept what is happening and to allow the feelings to come and go without trying to analyze them too much.  My higher score in the assessment is a reflection of my work life, my home life I think has been less affected because of the skills I have learnt and that is a real bonus to me and my family

Nikki Sanson writes…

Really enjoyed this journey - not been the best student ever! Sometimes have let my practice slip but feel like the foundations of my journey are here.. Has really made a difference to my day to day life and to the wellbeing of me, my husband, my kids and friends and family. I work for the NHS on a Mental Health Assessment Ward and being mindful has really helped how I view my job and the stress that I carry, but it also helped me to relate better and build better relationships with the patients. Thank you. Life is a journey and although I may not be perfect at being kind to myself and finding the time to practise I have made an ongoing commitment to try and incorporate mindfulness into every day of my life.

Dawn writes…

I've found the Be Mindful Online Course extremely helpful. It's helped me to realize that I don't need to rush around all the time, constantly "doing" and mentally adding things to my ever increasing To Do list. I'd read about mindfulness before I did the course but had a limited understanding of it. I feel that I know have a clear idea of what mindfulness is and exactly how it can be beneficial. Taking the time out to practise mindfulness has made me more effective, helped me to accomplish more and made my mind less frantic and much more calm. The emphasis on being kind to yourself has been good for me too as my default setting is to be overly critical. I'd definitely recommend it if you're feeling that life's getting on top of you and you're struggling to cope.

Leigh Alexander writes…

After many many years of rushing through my problems by thinking of the future, I have now learned a new way of being....  Although it will not be easy to keep it up...I’m determined to practice this very peaceful way of being as much as I can throughout my daily life.

Deborah Thornton writes…

I was having trouble coping with the emotional after effects of breast cancer, work was getting on top of me & I felt anxious all the time. Mindfulness was suggested as a method of helping me cope - I looked at a couple of books & then found this online course.
Making the commitment to the course was really helpful - having tutors go through the practices with you, having weekly assignments so you could learn it in bite sized chunks etc both really helped my stress levels & made me feel empowered in that there was actually something useful I could do to help myself! I can't recommend it highly enough & do feel its given me tools I can use for the rest of my life.

Claire writes…

I found this course to be simple to follow even whilst starting new medication for anxiety. The emails sent between sessions where helpful in encouraging you to keep going. I have found the 3-minute breathing exercise really useful to practice during the working day to reduce my experience of stress from escalating. I would recommend this course also because it is affordable.

Chris Allen writes…

I have felt that making the decision to do this course and following it through each week has been a strong and positive step I have taken in my life - a way of taking control a bit, not losing it. Logging in regularly and receiving emails has helped me stay connected and kept me going and I have found the pattern of daily practice quite 'grounding' - a reassurance that everything was ok - well sometimes at least. I need to practise more to feel like this more often I think.  I have appreciated the fact that the two course leaders remain constant throughout the course - the familiarity of their voices on audio exercises and videos really helps, I think. It helps that they sound calm, that they smile and that they present material in a friendly, approachable way.  I really feel this has been time well - I was going to say 'well spent' but it doesn't really feel like spent time, certainly not in a wasted sort of way. I's see it more as investment I have made in my own life - in today and in my future; a gift I can, with practise, give to myself every day.

Alison writes…

The mindful online course was fantastic! I found it really helpful in being able to learn to control my reactions (and over reactions!) to stressfulness situations, or situations that I don't feel comfortable in. I use the breathing space on a daily basis now and would be lost without it! I intend to keep practising my mindfulness further with the satisfaction that it has already benefitted me and I believe will continue to do so.

Ruth Sandal writes…

I had started to read as much as I could find about Mindfulness and was fascinated by the theory. I could have just read more and more but I found this course and it helped me to actually start practicing. The course brought Mindfulness alive for me as well as helping me become more aware of myself, the people around me and the precious moments of my life. The course is simple yet powerful.
Why not give it a go?

Cath Cole writes…

I just wanted to say thank you. I completed the course today and have found it's gentle introduction to mindfulness extremely helpful. I have a long term illness so find it difficult to attend a weekly class which is where this course was ideal. It enabled me to be led through the different stages at my own pace. I am going to carry on some of the techniques as part of my own daily routine.  A brilliant course that I will be recommending.

Melanie Baker writes…

I thoroughly enjoyed this excellent course and have experienced many benefits, even though I've been practicing mindfulness for some years. I thought the resources provided and the educational techniques were impressive. I will be recommending this course to friends, clients and fellow mental health professionals to help highlight the value of mindfulness.

Christine Hooker writes…

This online mindfulness course, in my opinion, is good value for money.
The activities are straightforward and easily accessible. There is a spirit of encouragement and an accepting nature in the wording. This tone in presentation diffuses anxiety and in my case engendered trust leading to active response. I'd recommend this course to help with a range of life's ills.

Hannah Pengelly writes…

I really found this course useful. I was unsure about the format and thought that it would be a little impersonal but that was not borne out. It’s very supportive and easily used. I hope to continue with mindfulness throughout my life.

Avi Levine writes…

A well designed online resource that helped me deal with anxiety during a very difficult time.

Joanna Edwards writes…

At the start of the course I had a continual "lump in my chest" feeling, prompted by an unresolved health scare. I still have the health scare but the fear is now manageable thanks to this course. It has been invaluable to me, and I have recommended it to other people who may benefit.

Eileen Ball writes...

I have found this online course simple to follow, I liked the control of choosing when I would do the practices and this has helped me to complete the exercises. The resources were useful and the emails with extra gems of insightfulness arrived at just the right moments. Before I started the course I had read about mindfulness and done some practice, but I discovered that I had not absorbed some of the building blocks that I have learnt in the last four weeks. I have noticed too, some positive changes in myself, my thoughts and feelings and my behavior. If you are thinking about doing this course then I recommend that you do so, you have everything to gain.

Adrian Bethune writes…

Before I started this course, I was worried I wouldn't have the time to actually complete it because I was so busy completing my teacher training course. However, the course fits perfectly into even a busy life and you can log in to complete the practices and watch the videos and, as you begin your mindfulness journey, you may even find that your life somehow becomes less busy and frantic. This course has been great in making me slow down, appreciate things more and approach life in a more inquisitive way. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Kathryn Allan writes…

The Be Mindful Online course really made me realize how I react to stress and gave me valuable, easy and manageable ways to explore my feelings and reactions, and simple strategies that made a difference in day to day life. At the start, I struggled to understand my reactions to some of the exercises but as the course went on, I learnt that these reactions are common and once I had worked through that, I started to make progress and really enjoy the feeling of making progress with my approach to stressful situations.

Ruth Howard writes…

Thank you for introducing me to a new way of thinking. Having battled chronic unhappiness for 10 years, I felt powerless and worthless. the sudden death of my father and my own internal monologue pushed me further down the abyss. I then discovered mindfulness and have not looked back. At first I was skeptical about the practices, but felt desperate enough to keep going; and they have certainly paid off. I now know I can be my own anchor in the ever changing sea of life, .its the safest and most positive I have felt in years. Thank you. I shall certainly be recommending it to everyone I now.  :)

Lyndsey Girling writes…

I enjoyed the course and was impressed with the level of support available to me for an online course. The mindful breathing practice was particularly helpful in helping me to reduce my anxiety.

Stuart Duncan writes…

I really enjoyed and benefited from the course. My stress levels have dropped significantly. The course is easy to follow and very practical. I had previously read a lot about mindfulness but hadn't made it a daily practice,

Gill Cooke writes…

I signed up for the online course after coming across it on Twitter! I had already heard about it from someone else - but it came into my awareness at a moment when I was feeling crushed by overwhelming stress in my life that had resulted in me feeling depressed and joyless. The practices seemed so simple it did not seem credible that it could make a difference - yet I immediately noticed that I was less stressed, calmer - and, most importantly, HAPPIER! I thoroughly recommend it!

Fabio Martinelli writes...

I had been reading about mindfulness meditation and I got more and more interested in the benefits it could bring, so when I saw this online course I decided to go for it with no hesitation. At the end of the 4 weeks I am extremely satisfied and I can recommend it because, if done with dedication, it brings the unquestionable benefits that only practising mindfulness can bring.

Chris Harrison writes...

I have been suffering with bi-polar for most of my life, and especially since 1978 when I was first admitted to a psychiatric hospital. I am now 62 and have been on many courses over the years but this has given me the most help and given me the most positive outlook that any have ever given me. I feel that I can take this forward into my life and that it will be a useful tool for progression. I have learnt techniques that are straight forward, and some only take a short time to relieve my stress, whereas before it would take much longer. It does however take practise and I feel that if I can keep this practise going that my life will be improved. It has already improved significantly giving me less stress and more confidence, without the feeling that I can't be in control of how I react to stressful situations. The course was well structured and the videos were excellent. I found all the exercises were easy to follow and I now feel a new confidence in going forward with my life.

Heather Robb writes...

I found this course stimulating and thought-provoking. I would certainly recommend it to those who are starting to come out of the main pit of depression and who want to find an alternative route out of the maze of self-destructive thoughts.

A completer of the course writes...

When I started the Be Mindful Online course I felt like I wanted to die. I felt like that all the time, and even though I had counselling before and was trying to use the techniques I had learnt, they just didn't work. I could tell myself that what I was thinking was a Thinking Error but I couldn't feel it.
I don't feel suicidal any more, I haven't since about Week 2 of the course. I can't actually remember what it feels like to be suicidal all the time. I feel like this course has saved me - although I realise that I wasn't meant to do the course while I felt so awful. I had not been able to get the help I needed from my health authority so I was willing to try anything and I am so glad that I did. Thank you.

Lynn Dunlop writes...

I have attended mindfulness courses in the past but wasn't comfortable with the group setting and found it very difficult to practise alone. The guided meditation practices of this online course were a tremendous help in establishing regular mindfulness practice.

Meryl Finch writes...

I found the course really helpful as it actually voiced very accurately what I was thinking and thus made me realise that I'm not the only one who thinks the way I do. It also showed me that there are tools there to actually help me cope with the thoughts and feelings that have been stressing me so much. I hope to go on and continue to use these tools in my daily life to help me keep things in perspective and calm me.

Norma Goff writes...

I have found this course extremely useful at a time in my life when my normal coping techniques were not working. I felt that everything was out of control, including me, and knew that I needed to reach out for something different to support myself. I am now on the road to recovery. I have found ways to continue my life with a new awareness and gentleness towards myself and life's events to enable a better balance. I would recommend this course to anyone who is finding life stressful.

Robert Rollins writes…

I've taken the Be Mindful Online course partly as an investigation of its applicability as part of the stress management tools we can offer students. I have to say I've been really impressed with the course, both the content and in the online presentation format. Really good,. the practices are gentle and (for me at least) effective, even starting from a pretty unstressed outlook at the beginning. I thoroughly recommend it.
